Man City v West Ham postponed due to Storm Ciara
Premier League fixture called off due to safety concerns
Rescheduled date to be announced
Manchester City's Premier League clash against West Ham at the Etihad on Sunday has been postponed because of Storm Ciara.
The decision was made by the Premier League on Saturday afternoon after a meeting with both clubs.
"The safety of everyone involved is our priority," the Premier League said in a statement.
"We understand that this is a disappointing decision for fans, but we believe it is the right one under the circumstances."
The match will now be played on a date to be announced.
Storm Ciara is expected to bring strong winds and heavy rain to the UK over the weekend.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind for the North West of England, where the Etihad Stadium is located.
The postponement of the match is a blow to both clubs.
Manchester City are looking to close the gap on leaders Liverpool, while West Ham are fighting for a place in the top four.
However, the safety of the fans, players and staff must come first.
